Toronto Raptors WiretapBosh Puts Free Agency Talk On Hold
"It's all a part of the business. I understand it's going to happen," Bosh said of his pending free agency. "I think LeBron kind of said it best. You have to be respectful of my teammates and make sure I focus on this season, no matter what happens." Cavaliers forward LeBron James, who is also expected to hit the market in 2010, said last week that he will stop talking about free agency. Bosh said Friday that he "doesn't know" how his situation will play out. "I expect to keep it dormant like it's been," he said. "Every day I turn on the TV and they're talking about guys, especially my draft class, '03 draft class, and this and that," he said. "They keep bringing up all these and I never hear my name, unless I'm like second honorable mention or something like that. I got tired of that. "I don't even think people know I've made all-star teams or know what I've done in this league." Bosh is averaging 26.8 points and 12.3 rebounds this season. He ranks seventh in scoring and second in rebounding. "I always thought of myself as a good basketball player, but after a while I really wanted to turn the corner. I looked at all the other guys who are considered top guys and I was tired of not having my name mentioned," he added. "I wanted to do the necessary work to make sure I put myself in a situation to be successful." Read the Full Story Discuss Send Feedback Buy Tickets Bosh On Free Agency: Anything Is Possible
Bosh, who can hit the market this coming summer, was asked by Fan House if he would consider signing with the Heat to play alongside Dwyane Wade. "Anything is possible, I guess," Bosh said. "I guess that seems to be an attractive place, you know, playing with Dwyane and playing in Miami and everything. I guess if they had the right chemistry, the right guys, that they could persuade guys to get there. But we'll see." Bosh is averaging a career-high 26.4 points and 11.8 rebounds this season and the Raptors aren't ready to let him go. "We're still the best partner for him to get the deal whether it's staying with us or getting it somewhere else or playing it out somewhere else," Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo said. "So we're the conduit. We're the best partner. We're not going to put the pressure on him to make a decision right now. It's really not the right time even for us. He's playing at an all-time level. ... I'm happy for him. I'm happy for us because we're in a better position to win basketball games."
