The Philadelphia 76ers have stashed several young talented players in international leagues in order to keep their rights as long as they remain away from the team.

Dario Saric is the most high-profile of the overseas players. Vasilije Micic, a Serbian point guard, plays for FC Bayern Munich of the German BBL. Former Tennessee standout Jordan McRae is with Melbourne United of the Australian National Basketball League. Turkish power forward Furkan Aldemir plays for Galatasarai Liv Hospital of the Turkish Basketball League. And Iranian power forward Arsalan Kazemi is with the Chongqing Flying Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Some around the league have argued that stashing some of the players overseas is a blatant tanking tactic, since plenty of NBA minutes are available on the Sixers.

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder have also used a similar tactic by stashing talented players overseas to keep their rookie rights.
