Nunyo Demasio of the Seattle Times reports: Sonics forward Vin Baker underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee yesterday, an operation that the Sonics described as successful. The minor procedure was to relieve pain in the right knee, which Baker sprained late last season.

"Minor cartilage damage was found in Vin's right knee," Sonics team doctor Richard Zorn, who performed the surgery, said in a statement yesterday. "The procedure went well and damage was repaired. I expect Vin to make a quick and complete recovery."

The Sonics didn't specify a timetable but expect their 6-foot-11 power forward to be ready for training camp in early October.
