Glenn Robinson, who has yet to play in any of the Milwaukee Bucks' four exhibition games because of soreness in both ankles, said he hoped to be 80% to 90% recovered by the time the regular season opens on Oct. 30 at Utah.

"That's what I'm shooting for," Robinson said Friday night before the Bucks played Boston. "I'm just trying to be smart about it."

Robinson had off-season surgery to clean bone spurs from both ankles, a problem he has battled for at least half of his eight-year career. Robinson, however, said he was not feeling the effects of the surgery.

"It's different from the surgery that I had," he said. "I had surgery on the outside (of the ankles). Now I'm having trouble on the inside, and it's frustrating."

Robinson didn't play basketball all summer and has not been able to finish a practice since training camp opened on Oct. 2. That makes him concerned for his conditioning when games begin to matter.
