The Pacers showed an ability to rebound from Friday's dreary defeat by playing superbly in the first three quarters of a 91-90 win over the Chicago Bulls at United Center.

The rebuilding Bulls are a team Indiana should beat, even in an exhibition game. But the Pacers were unable to do it last Saturday at Conseco Fieldhouse.

This time, Indiana (3-3) led 54-44 at halftime and 80-65 after three quarters before surviving a late rally.

The Pacers took command in the second quarter, outscoring Chicago 34-23 and getting contributions from a host of players.

Jermaine O'Neal, who scored a game-high 23 points in 21 minutes, dominated former Purdue center Brad Miller and the rest of the Bulls' front line in the first half.

O'Neal scored 18 points in the half, going 5-for-6 from the field and 8-for-10 from the line.
