MAGIC UPDATE: This is the second game of a five-game trip. The Magic have struggled against the Jazz, losing eight of their past nine meetings. They lost by 15 points in Utah last November.

JAZZ UPDATE: Utah has struggled, meaning this could be the beginning of the end in the Stockton-Malone era. Once a very tough team to play, the Jazz are vulnerable now. They lost at home Saturday 117-96 to the Toronto Raptors. Former Magic center John Amaechi, who signed with the Jazz during the summer, is the backup to Greg Ostertag.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Let's see how Magic rookie center Steven Hunter responds to his first back-to-back set as a starter. Amaechi will want to show up the Magic because he was disappointed that they didn't try to re-sign him last summer.

ETC.: John Starks, a backup with the Jazz, talked to Patrick Ewing last month, hoping the Magic would swing a trade to land him. He played with Ewing and Magic Coach Doc Rivers in New York. . . . With so many good, young teams in the West now, time is running out on the Jazz. Coach Jerry Sloan was ejected from Saturday's game.
