The Cavaliers will do something tonight that they haven't done since Mike Fratello was head coach. They will play a game without point guard Andre Miller.

Miller, who has appeared in 195 consecutive games during his three seasons, will be in Cleveland when the Cavs take the floor against Dallas at the American Airlines Center. But Miller, who suffered a dislocated right shoulder Tuesday at Houston, could return Saturday against Philadelphia at Gund Arena.

``There's a chance,'' Cavs coach John Lucas said last night after believing earlier in the day that Miller could be out as long as two weeks. ``The news was better than was expected.''

Miller had tests done at the Cleveland Clinic. Trainer Max Benton said Miller will be re-evaluated tomorrow, but the Cavs are ``optimistic'' that Miller will be able to play against the 76ers.

With 5:30 remaining in the 107-102 win over the Rockets, Miller banged into Houston forward Kenny Thomas while going after a rebound. While play moved upcourt, Miller remained on the ground in great pain.

After being helped off the floor, Miller's shoulder was popped back into his joint. Miller said after the game that he felt fine, but Lucas said he was hurting yesterday morning.
