While Utah Jazz forward Bryon Russell says he hasn't quite recovered from his fractured pelvis, the eight-year NBA veteran proved Wednesday at the Delta Center he still has his game-time groove.

Russell was instrumental in Utah's 99-86 win over the Boston Celtics ? his first home game since returning from his injury.

Saying later he was still sore in places, Russell posted a season-high 19 points in the victory, with 12 coming in the second half.

After the game, he thanked the Boston defense for triple-teaming Karl Malone, which freed him up for more shots.

"I hope they do it all the time, and I hope Portland will do it (today)," Russell said. "They had three people guarding Karl, and they are daring you to shoot the outside shot. I'm the wrong person to dare."

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound swingman, who suffered a fractured pelvis with a separation of his pubic synthesis in a Nov. 17 game against the Milwaukee Bucks, was more pleased with the team's progress than his own.

"It's not about me," he said. "Any way I can do it, I just want to help the team. I'm happy with (our) performance, we played well tonight as a team, and that's how we've got to play all of the time."
