Marc Spears states the obvious.  Denver could have had the worst or second worst record in the league if they'd tanked a few more games.

I enjoyed Kiki Vandeweghe's response to this:

"I never really looked at it that way," he said. "When you put that jersey on, you want to win, period, end of sentence. We obviously need to get our young people playing time. Everybody understands that at this time of the season. But obviously, you want to win games. I only think that it's a positive."

Would he have been runner-up NBA exec. of the year if he'd have looked at it that way?  Play horrible and tank a game or 2 in order to get better odds at the lottery?  That is poor sportsmanship, and not how a team or league should be built.
