The Jazz were supposed to select a shooter ? say, Dan Dickau or Jiri Welsch or Juan Dixon.

Curtis Borchardt wasn't supposed to slip so low.

But Borchardt did, prompting a surprise move for the franchise that hasn't had a super center since 7-foot-4 Mark Eaton.

After Orlando tapped Stanford's injury-riddled 7-footer with the No. 18 overall choice in Wednesday night's NBA Draft, the Jazz accepted Borchardt in trade for two picks made by Utah on the Magic's behalf, No. 19 Notre Dame forward Ryan Humphrey and No. 47 Cal center Jamal Sampson, who later was moved to Milwaukee for a no-name American (Rashard Griffith) who plays in Italy.

Dizzy?

Probably not nearly as much as happily shocked Jazz owner Larry H. Miller, who came into the evening with shooting, not size, on his mind.
