Free-agent guard John Crotty is recovering from yet another arthroscopic procedure on his ailing left knee.

"It's a very minor scope," said Crotty's Chicago-based agent, Mark Bartelstein, who downplayed the nature of the surgery.

Bartelstein said the former Jazz backup point guard had "a little piece of cartilage" removed by an orthopedic surgeon in the Charlotte area and that he should be ready to resume regular workouts in two weeks.

This procedure is not the more serious surgery Jazz staff feared Crotty might have to undergo if the knee did not respond in the offseason. But it is the second time in less than six months the knee has been scoped.
