Having spent the weekend translating Spanish media reports about a serious injury to point guard Raul Lopez, the Jazz today are expecting to finally confirm how badly their hope for the future is hurt.

But it doesn't look good.

Newspaper reports said the Jazz's first-round draft pick in 2001 tore the surgically repaired anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while playing for his native Spain in an exhibition tournament to prepare for the World Basketball Championship later this month. The Jazz fear he could miss much of what was supposed to be his first season in the NBA.
