Coach Jerry Sloan cared deeply about the Jazz's 93-88 loss to New Orleans Thursday night.

Of course, he did.

Ever the competitor, Sloan was upset by Utah's 21 turnovers and its inability to defend the three-point line. He shouted at his players. He complained to the referees. He cajoled the Jazz through the final moments of a thrilling NBA game.

But life and death?

No way.
