Karl Malone wants to know the identity of the Jazz's targets in this summer's NBA free-agent market.

Well, the Jazz are not saying ? not publicly and, so far, not even to Malone. But they do have a plan, and they seem intent on sticking to it.

"We believe we've got enough money to get two really good free agents. Maybe only one, because we want to keep that door open for Karl (Malone)," Jazz owner Larry H. Miller said. "But let's say one . . . (a) $9-, $10- or $11-million base-year free agent. Then, there's enough money for another very good player."
