The Chicago Bulls today signed forward Paul Shirley of the ABA?s Kansas City Knights to a 10-day contract.  Simultaneously, the Bulls placed forward Marcus Fizer on the Injured List with a sprained left ankle.

Shirley comes to the Bulls after appearing in 20 games for the Knights. On the season, he averaged 15.5 ppg, a team-high 9.5 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.30 bpg and 20.5 mpg, while shooting .500 from the field.

The 6-10, 235-pound Shirley played college ball at Iowa State, where he was a teammate with Fizer for three seasons.  He appeared in two games last season with the Atlanta Hawks and was with the Yakima Sun Kings (CBA) prior to his stint in Atlanta.
