Some of the greatest basketball teams from five continents will be warming for the Olympics at the prestigious FIBA Diamond Ball. This is the second event after the inaugural Diamond Ball which was played in Hong Kong in 2000 just before the Sydney Olympics.

The games will be played July 31 - August 3, 2004 in the brand new Belgrade Arena, the largest sports facility in the city with a seating capacity of 20,000 spectators, in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro. The arena will also host in 2005 the European Championship.
The groups are the following:

Group A: Argentina, Angola, Lithuania
Group B: Australia, People's Republic of China, Serbia & Montenegro

The official website of the event is www.eurobasket2005.com/diamond_ball/. However, FIBA is offering the possibility to follow the FIBA Diamond Ball live on www.fiba.com. Live statistics for every game of the tournament will be available for all basketball fans around the world that cannot watch the games live on television. A similar feature will be available during the Athens 2004 Olympic Basketball Tournament.

Photos, news, player and coach interviews, schedule, post game statistics and ranking tables from Belgrade will also be available on www.fiba.com in the section dedicated to the Diamond Ball which you can access on the link below.

The Diamond Ball will be broadcasted by the following television broadcasters and their country: TPA, Angola, TYC Argentina, PBS Bosnia & Herzegovina, TV Alfa FYROM, TV3 Lithuania, MBC Montenegro, RTS Serbia & Montenegro, MBC Montenegro, NBA TV USA.
