Duke's fourth straight loss Sunday was the last straw for the Blue Devils in their attempt to remain a part of the Top 25 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll.

Prior to this season, Duke had never been ranked below 10th in any coaches' poll during the month of February. Now, with an 0-4 February to date, the Blue Devils are on the outside looking in for the first time.

The Blue Devils (18-7), saddled with a four-game losing streak for the first time in 11 years, fell from 16th to the lead position in this week's "others receiving votes" Monday.

This marks the first time in the nine-year history of the ESPN/USA Today poll -- a span of 185 polls -- that Duke has not been ranked. The Blue Devils' No. 16 ranking last week was the lowest they had been ranked over that time (they were 15th in the second and third polls of the 1999-2000 season).

Meanwhile, Duke fell out of The Associated Press poll for the first time since the end of the 1995-96 season. The Blue Devils had been in the media poll for 200 straight weeks -- the second longest streak behind UCLA.

"If you do it for a long period of time, it means you've been good that long," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski told AP. "We never bring it up. It's a nice stat thing."
