Ben Gordon said there's nothing new to report on negotiations for a contract extension. By NBA rule, a deal for Gordon or Luol Deng, also eligible for an extension, would have to be agreed upon by the season-opening game, Oct. 31.

"I talked to Pax [Bulls general manager John Paxson] and he said he was going to speak with my agent [Raymond Brothers] sometime before the month is over, obviously," Gordon said.

"Just waiting and being patient to see what happens. There's not much you can do. You just have to focus on basketball."

Gordon denied a report in the New York Daily News that said he had asked the Bulls for a five-year extension worth $70 million.
