The Lopez twins have known for quite some time that a day would come when they were no longer teammates. On Thursday night, it's highly likely that notion will become a reality.

"It's something we knew would be happening for a while," Brook Lopez told RealGM on Wednesday. "It's unlikely [that the pair will be taken by the same team], but we did meet with a few teams that have two picks in the first round. We have come to terms with it."

Being twin brothers will allow the pair to form a special bond on the court even if they aren't playing for the same team.

"We'll enjoy competing against each other from now on," Brook added with a laugh. "He's probably the last player I want to face in the NBA."

Brook has been listed all over mock drafts since the college season ended a few months ago but wouldn't mind playing for the Sonics - assuming they remain in Seattle.

"I lived in Seattle for about a year and a half, so I guess I wouldn't mind going back there," he said.

He's also intrigued by the possibilty of playing for the Nets.

"They have a pretty good winning tradition over the last eight years or so. If I went there, I'd just go in and try to learn from that," Brook admitted.

When asked who he'd compare himself to on the court, he avoided embarrassing himself by choosing his words carefully.

"I wouldn't compare myself to Tim Duncan, but I'd like to emulate his game because he does everything so well."

In an attempt to improve his all-around skill set, Lopez has been working on the less-heralded side of his game.

"I've been really working on the defensive end lately. Stopping penetration, blocking shots, and then rebounding the ball to start the break," he admitted.

His famous personality couldn't help but surface as he discussed his favorite Michael Jackson song (Speed Demon), while commenting on the lure of New York.

"I think I'd fit anywhere, but I've heard New York has a lot of personalities outside of basketball, so what's one more?" he smiled.

It's easy to imagine that nothing bothers either of the Lopez twins, especially Brook who has avoided the overwhelming amount of draft coverage.

"I haven't really paid attention to mock drafts. I have a friend that tries to tell me everything, so I don't talk to him anymore."

It sounds like Brook is ready to slide under the microscope.
