The Celtics claim that the injured right knee of Paul Pierce is not going to be a problem next season, according to The Boston Herald.

A recent MRI showed that there are no significant problems with the knee that will hinder the NBA Finals MVP as he prepares to help the Celtics defend their title.

"It?s what we thought all along," Danny Ainge said. "He had a sprained MCL and a bone bruise, and he?ll be fine."

Pierce even has plans to begin working out within the next few weeks.
