Warriors' guard Marco Belinelli is still trying to improve as he enters his second season in the NBA.

He averaged just 2.9 points per game with Golden State last year, playing sparingly.

"Yes, it's really difficult," Belinelli said Friday. "This is the best, this is the top of the world. You have to be patient, you have to work every day, you have to stay focused."

"I want to improve in everything because I want to be the best player in the world."

Coach Don Nelson would like to see Belinelli play both guard spots this season.

"This is my second year, so it's different. I know what the coach wants from me," Belinelli said. "I know the last game I made some mistakes on defense. I have to improve a lot on defense. I've got time, I'm young, and I want to learn."
