Luol Deng revealed the thumb he injured on December 21st is X-rayed before every game to make sure the injury isn't worsening. He also isn't participating in contact drills during practice and wears protective tape on the injury during games.

Deng said doctors told him the injury would heal on its own in six to eight weeks if he didn't play.

"It could take longer now," Deng said. "And if I get smacked on it, I could break it, so I have to watch that."
