The Spurs signed James Anderson, their first-round draft pick, to a rookie contract on Friday.

Anderson can earn about $2.825 million over the first two years of the deal, with team options for the third and fourth seasons.

San Antonio used the 20th pick to select Anderson.

"This is a player who has performed at a very high level for three years at Oklahoma State, yet at the same time just turned 21," Spurs general manager R.C. Buford said.

"We get the best of both worlds ? a potential project, as well as someone who has excelled at a very high level in a power conference."
