Josh Howard missed Saturday's game against New Orleans with soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee.

Howard missed nearly 10 months of action after surgery on a torn ligament in the knee.

He originally injured the knee in just his fourth game with Washington on Feb. 22 after being acquired from Dallas.

Howard appeared in his first game this season on Dec. 9.

Washington coach Flip Saunders said that the rest for Howard, who left Friday's game in Indianapolis, was precautionary.
