Kevin Garnett participated in basketball activities on Wednesday morning for the first time since suffering a strained right calf against the Pistons on Dec. 29.

He worked out in the weight room while the Celtics practiced on the court, then did some light shooting, according to the team.

Garnett suffered the strain while going up for a two-handed slam in Detroit.

An MRI exam confirmed the strain and he was expected to miss up to two weeks.
