Michigan State's Durrell Summers, projected by some as a second round pick in this year’s draft, is shooting just 40.2 percent from the floor.

"We're always searching for ways to motivate players and how you handle distractions," Tom Izzo said. "It's more of a challenge, but it's not just basketball. It's the way of college sports today. Kids get so up and down based on one game or one article or one parent or one AAU coach. And if you don't meet those expectations that you or others might have for you, it could keep a kid down."

Izzo compares Summers to Morris Peterson in that both would too easily get depressed if the shots weren't falling.
