The depressed financial situation for several top European clubs is expected to mean fewer NBA-caliber International players in coming years, according to a source.

The bigger European clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and CSKA continue to develop players, but most clubs have fewer financial resources to train and develop young players.

Evan Fournier was the first International player selected in the 2012 NBA Draft with the 20th overall pick, whereas picks five through seven in 2011 were on International players.

Rudy Gobert is widely expected to be the top International pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, while Ukraine native Alex Len is playing collegiately at Maryland.
