The Miami Heat have agreements in place with Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger, but they were initially hoping to sign a bigger free agent such as Kyle Lowry or Luol Deng.

Those moves may not be what James was hoping for in order to improve the Heat roster.

"I spoke to a player who is close to LeBron," wrote Skolnick. "He laughed at the notion that Heat's recent moves would impress LeBron.. That player's belief is Miami would have been better off holding cap space to sell LeBron on prospect of something bigger."

Skolnick writes that the player is someone who communicates with James regularly.
