More than five years after James Harden was traded by the Thunder to the Rockets, he admits it is something he continues to think about on a daily basis.

Harden and the Thunder were a few million dollars apart on extension talks, which led to the abrupt trade in October of 2012 just months after reaching The Finals.

"It was the perfect puzzle," said Harden. "How do you give that up? How do you let that go?"

Harden became one of the best players in the NBA with the Rockets, but the 15-16 season was a disappointment.

"Nothing went well. Like, nothing. I just knew it was gonna be a disaster," Harden says now about that lost season. "We never got a rhythm, we never got a chemistry. That was the first time I felt like I couldn't control it. And you can tell. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Was it me? I mean, when anything goes bad or is not looking good, I go, 'Okay, what the hell am I doing wrong?' And then I figure out how to get myself straight."
