The New York Knicks will hire Leon Rose as President of Basketball Operations.

Rose is a longtime agent and currently works for CAA.

Rose represents Carmelo Anthony, Karl-Anthony Towns, D'Angelo Russell, Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Kyle Kuzma, Chris Paul and many other NBA players.

Ian Begley reports that William Wesley is under consideration to have a role with the Knicks. Rose and Wesley are longtime associates.

A formal announcement isn't expected in the immediate future.

James Dolan began exploring the front office model of hiring a player agent shortly after firing Steve Mills. The Golden State Warriors under Bob Myers and the Los Angeles Lakers under Rob Pelinka have had success with the former agent model.

The Knicks were previously linked to a pursuit of Masai Ujiri.
