The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) announced that they will not send athletes to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics if they take place as currently scheduled.

Australia's Olympic Committee also announced that they will not send athletes due to the threat of COVID-19.

The 2020 Olympics are set to start on July 24th, though a decision on whether to postpone the games will be made in the next four weeks. 

Canada, coached by Nick Nurse, were set the feature the likes of Jamal Murray, RJ Barrett, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Australia are coached by Brett Brown. Ben Simmons previously stated his desire to compete in the Olympics, alongside current and former NBA players like Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills, Joe Ingles and Matthew Dellavedova.
