The NBA sent a memo to teams on Wednesday night outlining plans to supplement its current testing with localized gameday tests.

The league is looking to find local providers of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests that could be collected on the morning of games and turned around at least one hour before start time.

Players and refs currently need to test negative the day before and morning of a game. PCR tests are more accurate than rapid tests but take longer to return a result.

PCR tests require 12 hours to turnaround a result, though cities with a Bioreference lab can get them quicker.

The NBA has postponed nine games this season.
