While DeAndre Jordan has lost his spot in the rotation of the Brooklyn Nets, the team has no intention of engaging on a buyout.

“It’s never been discussed,” said a source.

The Nets added Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge in buyouts, which led to Jordan's removal from the rotation. The Nets also have Nic Claxton, who had emerged before his late February injury.

“[Jordan’s] got to stay ready. Who knows when it might be? It might be Sunday. It might be in two weeks. But everyone’s got to continue to prepare and stay ready and see what happens,” Steve Nash said. “We’ve got a lot of centers. We’re going to work through it and see what our rotation is going to be come playoff time.”

The Nets signed Jordan to a four-year, $40 million contract during the 2019 offseason.
