The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in acquiring Chris Paul, a source confirmed to Law Murray of The Athletic.

Sources tell Murray that the Clippers could envision a scenario where they acquire Paul while also re-signing Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook played well for the Clippers after he joined the team in March. It is unclear if Westbrook would be receptive to the idea of playing with Paul, particularly because the Clippers can only offer him 120 percent of the veteran's minimum. Westbrook was seriously considering staying with the Clippers on that contract, but the presence of Paul would change his role.

Both Paul and Westbrook reside in Los Angeles.

Ty Lue was an advocate for signing Westbrook, who he started right away. Lue has said he prefers having a traditional point guard in his rotation.

Paul George pushed the Clippers to sign Westbrook and he is known to have a frosty relationship with Paul.
