Following the departure of Patty Mills, the Melbourne Tigers will reach out to Andrew Bogut.

Bogut has been sidelined during the course of the current NBA lockout and had indicated he wanted to join the Sydney Kings before issues with his insurance ultimately scuttled his signing.

Mills Released From Melbourne Contract, Will Sign With Chinese Club

The Melbourne Tigers have released Patty Mills from his contract effective immediately, allowing him to sign with Chinese club Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers.

Tigers CEO Seamus McPeake explained that the Tigers policy is not to hold players back.

“It was a similar situation with David Barlow and Mark Bradtke. They received very lucrative offers overseas and it was in their best interests to pursue the opportunity. Patty has received a great offer and being an Olympic year we will always do what is best for him.”
