Retired General Martin Dempsey will be the next USA Basketball Chairman.

Dempsey was previously the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Jerry Colangelo is not seeking a third term as Chairman.

Gregg Popovich will become the next head coach of USA Basketball.

Jerry Colangelo will step down from the role of chairman of USA Basketball. A new chairman will be elected on November 14th.

Colangelo continues to serve as a special advisor to the 76ers. 

Colangelo will continue to work as the managing director of the U.S. men's national team.
