The Pelicans had interest in Kent Bazemore of the Atlanta Hawks.
Dell Demps, however, is optimistic that the asking price for a veteran wing will come down during the season.
Jahlil Okafor has agreed to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Okafor will have a partial guarantee for the 18-19 season and the Pelicans will have a team option for 19-20.
Okafor was the third overall pick in 2015 out of Duke and the Philadelphia 76ers declined their option on his contract for 18-19 before he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
