Sep 22, 2020 8:15 AM

J.J Redick signed a two-year, $26.5 million contract with the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2019 offseason and he would like to play through the 22-23 season.

"I realized this year I want to keep playing as long as possible," Redick told Mark Medina of the USA Today. "My goal is to play four more years. Year 18. That’s my goal. I’ll play to 39. Then my offseason, I’ll turn 40 and then I can walk away at that point. That’s my goal. We’ll see. The body has to hold up. But we’ll see."

Redick was the 11th overall pick in the 2006 draft out of Duke.

Lonzo Ball Signs With Rich Paul Of Klutch Sports

Sep 14, 2020 8:26 AM

Lonzo Ball has signed with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

"I wanted to lead my career," Ball told ESPN. "Picking my own representation -- just solely as my decision -- was Step 1 in that process. For me, it was an easy call and it was the right time to make that call."

Ball joins Klutch Sports after brief stints with Creative Arts Agency and Roc Nation.

Ball becomes eligible for an extension this offseason after spending his first season with the New Orleans Pelicans. The move from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Pelicans appears to have given him more freedom from his father.

"Me being in New Orleans, I have no family out there," Ball said. "It kind of put me on my own for the first time in my life."

Celtics Never Offered Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown To Pelicans For Anthony Davis

Sep 4, 2020 11:19 AM

The Boston Celtics never offered Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown to the New Orleans Pelicans in any trade talks for Anthony Davis last June, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic

The Celtics had hoped to trade for Davis to form a superstar duo with Kyrie Irving. But Irving began to distance himself from the Celtics last spring and the belief around Davis was that the point guard intended to leave the franchise in free agency.

The Pelicans eventually traded Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.
