The Dallas Mavericks have requested waivers on guard Daryl Macon.
Macon (6-3, 185) was signed to a two-way contract by Dallas on July 30, 2018, after going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft. He played in eight games for the Mavericks as a rookie and averaged 3.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11.2 minutes per game.
As a two-way player, Macon also appeared in 41 games (37 starts) for the Mavericks’ G-League affiliate, the Texas Legends, in 2018-19, and averaged 19.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.0 steal in 34.5 minutes per contest.
The Dallas Mavericks have signed free agent guard Dakota Mathias.
Mathias (6-4, 200) went undrafted in 2018 after a four-year college career at Purdue, where he finished as the school’s all-time leader in games played (141) and 3-pointers made (250). He was also a two-time Big Ten All-Defensive Team selection (2017, 2018).
As a senior in 2017-18, Mathias started all 37 games and averaged 12.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game for a Boilermakers squad that went 30–7.
The Dallas Mavericks have signed guard/forward Antonius Cleveland to a two-way contract.
Cleveland (6-6, 195) started all five games for the Mavericks’ Las Vegas Summer League team in 2019, averaging 16.0 points (second on the team), 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.0 block in 25.0 minutes per contest. He shot 56.1 percent (32-of-57) from the field for a Dallas squad that advanced to the eight-team tournament in a pool of 32 teams.
The Memphis native returns for his second stint with Dallas after appearing in 13 games for the Mavericks in 2017-18. Cleveland, who also saw action in four games for the Hawks that year, owns 17 games of NBA experience overall.
The Dallas Mavericks have waived Kostas Antetokounmpo from his Two-Way contract.
Antetokounmpo played in two games last season with the Mavericks.
In the G League, Antetokounmpo averaged 10.6 points and 6.1 rebounds in 25.4 minutes per game with the Texas Legends.
Mark Cuban has been fined $50,000 by the NBA after admitting to leaking information from a Board of Governors meeting to a reporter.
"I appreciate the irony of your reporting on a fine that someone should, but won't, get fined for leaking to you," Cuban told ESPN.
Vivek Ranadive expressed concern that information about the vote to allow coaches' challenges was being reported while the meeting was still in session. Cuban immediately admitted that he had leaked the information, sources said.
The Dallas Mavericks acquired Delon Wright from the Memphis Grizzlies in a sign-and-trade agreement. Wright signed a three-year, $29 million contract.
The Grizzlies receive two future second round picks for Wright.
The Grizzlies acquired Wright last season in a trade package that included Marc Gasol.
The Dallas Mavericks are preparing to sign Delon Wright to an offer sheet when the moratorium is lifted on July 6th.
Wright is a restricted free agent, which will give the Memphis Grizzlies match rights.
Wright could have offers from other teams as well.
The Grizzlies acquired Wright at the trade deadline as part of the Marc Gasol trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Boban Marjanovic has agreed to a two-year, $7 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
Marjanovic finished last season with the Philadelphia 76ers following his trade from the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Dallas Mavericks agreed to re-sign Dorian Finney-Smith to a three-year, $12 million contract.
Finney-Smith averaged 7.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.5 minutes per game last season for the Mavericks.
