Tim Connelly: I Expect Paul Millsap To Return To Nuggets Next Season

May 21, 2019 9:31 PM

Tim Connelly discussed why he turned down the president of basketball operations job with the Washington Wizards to return to the Denver Nuggets.

"It's safe to assume, and maybe it's me being overly optimistic, that we're going to see a better version of us next year. I don't know if that means more wins. I don't know if we're going to win a playoff series and advance, but I don't think there's any reason to think there will be any regression next season," said Connelly.

Connelly added that he expects Paul Millsap to return to the Nuggets. The team holds a $30 million option on his contract this offseason, although that number could be restructured.

"I fully expect Paul to be back in a Nuggets uniform," said Connelly.

Nikola Jokic After Game 7: I Missed A Lot Of Shots

May 12, 2019 10:28 PM

Nikola Jokic blamed himself after the Denver Nuggets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Jokic finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds in the game.

Jokic pointed to a key missed free throw with 11.4 seconds left in the game.

"They look at me as a leader, they look at me as their best player. So yeah, I missed those free throws near the end and in the Portland game we went to four overtimes, I missed a lot of other shots and I'm supposed to make some of those," said Jokic.

Michael Malone added that while Jokic probably got tired after 14 playoff games, the loss fell on the larger group.

"I got Nikola Jokic in there taking blame for the loss! It's not his fault. This was a group effort. I think the cumulative effect of 14 playoff games, and us asking him to do as much as we asked him to do, finally took its toll on him tonight."

No Suspensions For Blazers, Nuggets Following Game 6 Scuffle

May 10, 2019 10:24 PM

The NBA confirmed that there will be no suspensions following a game 6 scuffle between the Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets.

The incident took place in the 4th quarter between Will Barton, Torrey Craig, Seth Curry, and Zach Collins.

"He waited for a few people to get in between us, and when a few people were in between us, he put his finger in my eye. You know what I'm saying. I can't allow people to put their fingers in my eye. That's real sassy. They got a few sassy dudes over there. Front-runners. And we can't allow that," said Seth Curry of Barton.
