Monta Ellis scored 15 consecutive points in the fourth quarter on the way to matching his career-high 31 points, and the resurgent Warriors snapped the Suns' eight-game winning streak with a 129-114 victory Monday night.

In a rare instance of double triple-doubles, Baron Davis and the Warriors got the better of Caron Butler and the Wizards.
Davis had 33 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds, Stephen Jackson scored 28 points, and Golden State beat Washington 123-115 on Friday night, ending the Wizards' six-game winning streak.
Butler, coming off a career-high 39-point effort Wednesday, did his best to keep Washington unbeaten without sidelined Gilbert Arenas, but it wasn't quite enough. Butler finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while Antawn Jamison had 30 points and 12 rebounds.
Davis and Butler are the first pair of opponents with triple-doubles in the same game in more than 4 1/2 years. Orlando's Tracy McGrady and New Jersey's Jason Kidd did it on Feb. 23, 2003.
Golden State GM Chris Mullin is expected to emerge as a top candidate for the Knicks' GM job if Isiah Thomas eventually is fired from his dual role as coach and president, The Post has learned.
Mullin was at sold-out Madison Square Garden on Tuesday and heard all the "Fire Isiah" chants as his Warriors belted the Knicks by 26 points.
The former St. John's sharp-shooting superstar out of Brooklyn told a confidant Wednesday that an employee from the organization, during an informal chat, secretly asked Mullin if he'd be interested in coming to the Knicks if the GM spot is open next summer.
Owner James Dolan is not ready to make a move yet, and Thomas will coach the team tomorrow against the Bulls, though he appears on thin ice.
Mullin, 43, is in his fourth season as Golden State's executive VP of basketball operations and has built a young, athletic team that posted one of the biggest playoff upsets in NBA history when it shocked the Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs last spring.
The message was loud and clear: Knicks fans were disgusted by what they saw.
Isiah Thomas didn't blame them.
Baron Davis had 31 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and the Warriors ruined Stephon Marbury's return to the starting lineup Tuesday night with a 108-82 victory, sending New York to its seventh straight loss.
Marbury scored 18 points, but the Knicks were never in the game in the second half and were booed often over the final three quarters. So was Thomas who saw no results from his decision to demote Marbury last week and heard the familiar "Fire Isiah!" cries on a few occasions during the game.
Before Kevin Garnett was dealt to Boston in the offseason, Golden State quietly made a strong push to acquire the 10-time All-Star.
"When you have a chance to get one of the three best players in the league, of course you try," said Warriors' executive vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin. "The fact is, he was dealt somewhere else. You can't make someone deal it to you. You move forward. When those great players come up, you're automatically interested."
Garnett's agent Andy Miller didn't believe the Wolves were serious about trading their all-time leader in points, rebounds, blocks, and assists until early June. Eager to add the future Hall of Famer, the Celtics, Warriors, Lakers, Bulls, and Mavericks were the main teams showing interest, according to an NBA source.
The source said the Warriors' package for Garnett included forward Al Harrington, center Andris Biedrins, guard Monta Ellis, and the 18th pick in this year's draft. The Lakers dangled forward Lamar Odom and center Andrew Bynum but couldn't acquire a high draft pick to sweeten the offer. Chicago spoke of sending Ben Gordon or Luol Deng, plus Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha, and P.J. Brown in a sign-and-trade and their ninth overall pick for Garnett and another player. Dallas offered anybody but 2007 NBA MVP Dirk Nowitzki.
With Stephen Jackson back from suspension, the NBA's highest-scoring team has another valuable option.
Jackson scored 17 points, Andris Biedrins had 15 points and 14 rebounds and the Warriors beat the Raptors 106-100 on Sunday.
The Golden State Warriors have assigned center Kosta Perovic (COAST-a PEAR-a-vich) to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today.
Perovic, 22, has not appeared in any of Golden State?s first seven games during the 2007-08 regular season and spent the first five games on the inactive list. The 7-2 center from Serbia, who was originally drafted by Golden State with the 38th overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft, is a rookie this season after staying overseas to play the 2006-07 campaign in Serbia.
Stephen Jackson crossed the Oracle Arena floor after completing a punishing 45-minute individual workout Friday morning and slapped hands with former NBA coach Paul Silas, who was sitting courtside.
"It's time, man," Jackson said.
When Jackson next walks into an NBA arena, it'll be as a free man. His seven-game, league-mandated suspension for pleading guilty in June to a felony charge of criminal recklessness expired at the end of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Jackson is expected to start Sunday afternoon for a Warriors' team that has desperately missed his salutary contributions in almost every facet of the game. Coach Don Nelson expects Jackson's presence to increase the communication on defense and raise the intelligence of the whole unit on the floor.
The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent center DJ Mbenga to a contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.
Mbenga (Ben-ga), 27, was not drafted by an NBA team but was signed as a free agent by the Dallas Mavericks prior to the 2004-05 season. He played three seasons with the Mavericks (2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07) prior to being waived before the start of this season (October 30). A native of the Congo, Mbenga has averaged 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in 79 career regular season games. He appeared in a career-high 43 games with the Mavericks during the 2005-06 campaign and logged a career-best 237 minutes overall.
Mbenga will join the Warriors in New York on Monday and will wear uniform # 28.
The Golden State Warriors have waived forward Stephane Lasme, it was announced today by Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin.
Lasme, 24, was selected by the Warriors in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft (46th overall). He appeared in one regular season game (11/8 vs. Dallas) and did not register a stat line. The 6'8" native of Gabon, Africa, appeared in four preseason games with Golden State, averaging 5.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.25 blocked shots in 16.3 minutes.
