Warriors Acquire D'Angelo Russell On Four-Year, $117M Sign-And-Trade With Nets

Jun 30, 2019 11:37 PM

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a four-year, $117 million sign-and-trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets for D'Angelo Russell.

The Warriors will also acquire Trevon Graham and Shabazz Napier.

Golden State must unload salary elsewhere to make this deal feasible as they are up against the hard cap, which could mean also trading Andre Iguodala.

Klay Thompson, Warriors Still Expected To Agree To Five-Year, $190M Deal

Jun 30, 2019 11:12 PM

The Golden State Warriors were widely expected to reach agreement with Klay Thompson on a five-year, $190 million max contract.

The deal, however, hasn't been widely reported as being agreed upon.

Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that three sources indicate the deal remains done.

Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area reported that just because the deal isn't being publicized doesn't mean there is no deal.

"Nothing has changed," according to a source.

Jun 30, 2019 9:25 PM

A lot of people within the Golden State Warriors were convinced during the middle of the 17-18 season that Kevin Durant would even leave that summer, sources told Zach Lowe of ESPN.

Durant instead re-signed with the Warriors on a one-plus-one contract, but left in 2019 for the Brooklyn Nets.

Durant went through periods when he was distant and quiet.

Jun 29, 2019 11:14 PM

Steve Serby of the New York Post secured an interview with Rich Kleiman, agent for Kevin Durant, on the eve of free agency.

Kleiman was asked what Durant's mindset is like right now following his Achilles injury and approaching free agency.

"He’s got a great perspective on life, and he’s got a great understanding of what each challenge is and how to get through it, and he’s as focused as he’s ever been," said Kleiman.

Kleiman was asked if Durant will know what he will decide on June 30th when he wakes up.

"While I’m doing this interview, Kevin is completely undecided in figuring out what he wants to do."

Shams Charania reports that the Celtics will pursue bigs with their $4.8 million option, such as Looney and Enes Kanter.

Marc Stein reports the Rockets have arranged a recruitment session for Sunday with Looney. Houston similarly pursued Andre Iguodala in 2017, which drove up the price the Warriors ultimately had to pay.

The Warriors would also like to re-sign Looney.

Stephen Curry To Attend Warriors' Meeting With Kevin Durant

Jun 29, 2019 3:55 PM

Stephen Curry will attend Bob Myers' meeting in New York with Kevin Durant, according to sources that spoke with Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.

The Golden State Warriors are attempting to convince Durant to re-sign with the franchise three years after he joined them from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Klay Thompson will soon undergo surgery on his torn ACL and won't visit Durant.

Draymond Green has already visited Durant in New York this offseason.

When Durant decided to join the Warriors in 2016, he wanted to be sure Curry wanted him on the team.

While the Warriors have largely remained Curry's team in the hearts of fans, Durant has ironically never been more popular than he is now. The Warriors' offense had also shifted more towards Durant in 18-19.
