Experts Say Pacers Unlikely To Move

May 19, 2010 7:40 AM

There have been murmurs that the Pacers could leave Indianapolis if the city doesn't agree to pay Conseco Fieldhouse's operating costs.

Team officials aren't ruling anything out, even though moving the team isn't their intent.

The operating costs for the Fieldhouse are $15.4 million annually.

The Indianapolis Star writes that, according to experts familiar with similar situations, it's not likely that the Pacers will relocate.

The team has a complicated contract with the city and there are a limited number of cities that could offer the Pacers an enticing deal.
