Feb 23, 2005 10:14 AM

The newest rumor swirling around the NBA grapevine has the Milwaukee Bucks and Portland Trailblazers swapping all-star talent. The rumored deal would have Michael Redd and Keith Van Horn heading to Portland in exchange for Shareef Abdur-Rahim and another player.

John Nash, the Blazers GM, was asked about the trade and only said he was "still listening to offers". Though he did go on to say that the Blazers "don't have any untouchables".

Feb 14, 2005 11:23 PM

Nick Van Exel hit a 29-foot desperation shot as the buzzer went off to give the Portland Trail Blazers an 80-77 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday night.

Van Exel was trapped near midcourt on the final possession before throwing a pass on the left sideline to Derek Anderson. He flipped the ball through a double-team back to Van Exel, who hit the off-balance 3-pointer from the left wing.

The loss was the 7th in a row for the Bobcats and their 2nd at the buzzer.

Blazer Cover Up?

Feb 14, 2005 9:39 AM

According to Chicago Tribune columnist Sam Smith the Blazers are making the Rasheed Wallace and Isaiah Rider eras look like the good times.

A few weeks ago Darius Miles, owner of a new six-year, $42 million contract, raged at coach Maurice Cheeks with a stream of racial invective and threats to lose on purpose. Now it seems a proposal has been broached that the Blazers will repay Miles the $150,000 plus interest he lost from the two-game suspension. The Blazers deny this.

The rumored proposed agreement would ask Miles not to file a grievance against the team, which already has three--from Dale Davis, Vladimir Stepania and Qyntel Woods. The speculation around the NBA is Miles must know something embarrassing about the Blazers he'd disclose in arbitration.

Carmelo Anthony was held to just 7 points, as he was shadowed by Ruben Patterson.

Nick Van Exel scored 26 points for the Blazers.

``You want to win them all, but if you'd told me when I started we'd be 3-1 I probably would have given you a lot of money,'' Karl said.
