The San Antonio Spurs were rumored to be a suitor for Austin Reaves ahead of free agency opening this offseason. Reaves had the Spurs mulling different offer sheet scenarios, before he re-signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to a report, San Antonio considered offering Reaves a four-year, nearly $100 million offer sheet. That was the maximum the Spurs would have been allowed to offer Reaves, as he was an Arenas Provision restricted free agent. San Antonio also considered a shorter, three-year, $60 million offer sheet.

Ultimately, Reaves signed a four-year, $54 million contract to stay with the Lakers. That was the most Los Angeles could offer the young guard, given they only had his Early Bird rights.

Victor Wembanyama is tentatively scheduled to make his NBA debut on October 25 against the Dallas Mavericks, sources told Marc Stein of Substack.

The 2023-24 season is scheduled to start on October 24.

The NBA also released its Christmas Day schedule, headlined by the Celtics at the Lakers.  

The San Antonio Spurs project to have the most cap space during the 2024 offseason at $55.3 million, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.

The Orlando Magic also project to have over $50 million in cap space at $51.3 million. 

The Utah Jazz and Charlotte Hornets will be slightly above $40 million, while the Detroit Pistons will have $38.7 million in cap space.

Sidy Cissoko contract is guaranteed for the first two years and becomes non-guaranteed in the third year, sources told Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Cissoko, who was drafted with the 44th overall pick, agreed to a three-year deal last month. 

Devonte’ Graham has been suspended for two games without pay for pleading guilty to a charge of impaired driving, in violation of the law of the State of North Carolina.

Graham’s suspension will commence with the next NBA regular season game that he is eligible and able to play.

Graham was traded by the New Orleans Pelicans to the San Antonio Spurs last season.
