Aleksej Pokusevski had hoped to suit up for Serbia at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, but he'll miss the event due to rehab from injury. Pokusevski is continuing to work his way back from a small fracture in his right humerus.

The Oklahoma City Thunder big man had hoped to play for the Serbian senior national team for the first time this summer, but that debut will have to wait. Pokusevski is expected to be fully recovered in time for training camp with the Thunder in late-September.

Serbia will be down several key players for the World Cup. In addition to Pokusevski, Nikola Jokic will not play, due to rest reasons after winning the 2023 NBA Finals. Vasilije Micic will sit out, as he transitions to the NBA for the upcoming season. Longtime Serbian national team members Nikola Kalinic and Vladimir Lucic are both out due to injuries.

USA Basketball named a 14-player roster for the Select Team on Monday.

The roster includes Cade Cunningham, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Keegan Murray, Jalen Duren, Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Jalen Green, Quentin Grimes, Payton Pritchard, Naz Reid, Langston Galloway, John Jenkins, and Eric Mika.

Galloway, Jenkins, and Mika were part of the group that helped Team USA qualify for the World Cup.

The team will be coached by Jamahl Mosley, with Jim Boylen and Matt Painter serving as assistants.

The Select Team is set to serve as an opponent for Team USA during its upcoming training camp to prepare for the FIBA World Cup. 

Kyle Anderson received Chinese citizenship through naturalization, the Chinese Basketball Association announced.

Anderson's maternal grandmother was born in Jamaica to a Chinese father and Jamaican mother.

Anderson could potentially play for China in the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Teams are allowed to have one naturalized player on the roster.

China already announced an 18-player roster for the tourney, though final rosters are not yet set. 

Per a report from Mozzart Sport, Nikola Jokic will sit out of the upcoming FIBA World Cup. Jokic has chosen to rest, after the Denver Nuggets run to winning the NBA Finals.

The Serbian National Team is also expected to be without Vasilije Micic, as he's expected to focus on his transition to the NBA. Nikola Kalinic, who plays for Barcelona, is also expected to skip the tournament.

The USA Select team has added four players to practice and scrimmage against Team USA ahead of next month's FIBA World Cup. The teams will work against each other in Las Vegas at a training camp, before Team USA heads to the Philippines in August.

Quentin Grimes of the New York Knicks, Trey Murphy of the New Orleans Pelicans, Payton Pritchard of the Boston Celtics, and Naz Reid of the Minnesota Timberwolves will play for the Select team. Those four will join Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Chet Holmgren, Keegan Murray and Jalen Williams for the workouts.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was named to Greece's 22-player preliminary roster ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Greece are in Group C alongside Team USA, New Zealand, and Jordan.

Antetokounmpo averaged 29.3 points per game in FIBA EuroBasket 2022. 

The Bucks superstar also underwent a cleanup procedure on his knee last month. 

Cade Cunningham, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Green and Keegan Murray are among the players that will join Team USA for training camp in Las Vegas. They will play on the U.S. Select Team as the Senior Team prepares for the FIBA World Cup.

The U.S. Select Team will be coached by Jamahl Mosley of the Orlando Magic.

Team USA has not formally announced its Select Team, which will include as many as 12 players. They will also be eligible to travel with the Senior Team to the Philippines and serve as a replacement if an injury occurs before the start of the Cup.

Canada Basketball announced its 18-player training camp roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

The roster includes: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray, RJ Barrett, Dillon Brooks, Luguentz Dort, Kelly Olynyk, Cory Joseph, Dwight Powell, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Oshae Brissett, Zach Edey, Melvin Ejim, Kevin Pangos, Kyle Alexander, Trae Bell-Haynes, Kassius Robertson, Phil Scrubb, and Thomas Scrubb.

Training camp opens on August 1. 

Canada are in Group H with France, Latvia, and Lebanon.

Josh Hart committed to the final roster spot for Team USA on Sunday, completing the 12-player roster for the upcoming World Cup.

The final Team USA roster includes: Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Austin Reaves, Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Jaren Jackson Jr., Cam Johnson, Walker Kessler, and Bobby Portis.

The World Cup begins on August 25.
