Will Barton Interested In Returning To Nuggets

Mar 24, 2015 11:52 PM

Will Barton has received playing time with the Denver Nuggets and hopes to return to the team next season.

"No doubt," Barton said. "I think we can build something here. We have a lot of good talent, a good organization, coaching staff is good. I can see us building and having a strong future here. We can grow together."

The Nuggets can extend a qualifying offer to Barton after the season at what would be $1.1 million, which would make him a restricted free agent.

Al Harrington Retires, Joins Nuggets' Staff For Rest Of Season

Mar 19, 2015 1:34 AM

Al Harrington said he is retired from the NBA following a 16-year career and has started to assist the Denver Nuggets' coaching staff.

"I'm officially retired," Harrington said. "I don't know if there's paperwork that I gotta fill out or anything. But my career is over.

"I'm very happy with what I was able to accomplish. I was able to change a lot of people's lives in my family, including myself in a game that I eventually fell in love with and will always be in love with. And hopefully I can stay around the game until I die. It was a fun ride. It went by fast, too. It was like one minute I was 18, the next I was 25 then was 30 and now I'm 35. It was a fun run. Met a lot of great people."

Harrington was best known for his days playing with the Indiana Pacers and spent two seasons with the Nuggets. He played in China this season.

Mar 17, 2015 6:00 PM

The Denver Nuggets have been impressed by Melvin Hunt so far as interim head coach and will at least consider him during the coaching search.

"As an organization, we have all been impressed with the job Melvin has done thus far," Tim Connelly said. "When the season concludes, he will be one of the candidates as we begin an exhaustive search to find a head coach."

The Nuggets fired Brian Shaw this season and are 6-3 under Hunt.

Mike D'Antoni Interested In Nuggets' Job

Mar 3, 2015 1:20 PM

Mike D'Antoni has interest in becoming head coach of the Denver Nuggets.

D'Antoni hasn't coached since he was fired by the Los Angeles Lakers following the 13-14 season.

D'Antoni's first head coaching job in the NBA was with the Nuggets.

D'Antoni's fastpaced system on offense would presumably give the Nuggets a strong homecourt advantage due to the altitude of Denver.

Nuggets End Huddle With '1-2-3, Six Weeks'

Mar 1, 2015 2:17 PM

The Denver Nuggets ended a huddle late in Friday's 104-82 loss to the Utah Jazz by chanting, "1-2-3 ... six weeks!"

Six weeks marks the end of the Nuggets' season, with 24 games, 46 days and 1,152 minutes left.

The Nuggets are headed to their worst season since before the Carmelo Anthony era.

"I'm frustrated in myself because I feel that I need to figure out a way to do a better job at trying to get that out of us, get that hustle and those kinds of plays and to play with more of a sense of urgency, play with more tenacity," Brian Shaw said.
