Utah continue to lean towards waiving recently acquired the recently acquired Alan Henderson.
The move could come as early as Thursday.
Utah still has not decided whether to waive or bring in veteran forward Alan Henderson, acquired via trade with Philadelphia last Thursday.
"We'll see where we are Monday and make some kind of plan," Jazz basketball boss Kevin O'Connor said.
Mehmet Okur and Andrei Kirilenko sat out Utah's game against Boston on Saturday night due to injuries.
Okur missed his second straight game with back spasms and Kirilenko was out with a bruised left knee that knocked him out of a game at Denver on Friday night.
Okur had not missed a game for the Jazz before Friday and had played in 233 straight games.
Kirilenko banged his knee in a collision with the Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony and the Jazz decided to rest him Saturday.
The Jazz moved second-year guard C.J. Miles to forward for Kirilenko and started Jarron Collins in place of Okur at center.
Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that the Sixers have traded forward Alan Henderson to the Utah Jazz for the rights to exchange second round draft picks in the 2007 NBA Draft. In addition the Jazz will receive cash considerations from the Sixers.
"This move gives us increased flexibility and provides us with additional options on draft day," said King.
The Jazz are expected to waive Henderson.
A 6-foot-9 forward, Henderson has averaged 7.9 points and 5.0 rebounds in 648 career games (220 starts) with four teams: Atlanta (1995-2004), Dallas (2004-05), Cleveland (2005-06) and Philadelphia (2006-07). Playing in his 12th NBA season, Henderson is averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 34 games (5 starts).
The Utah Jazz acquired veteran forward Alan Henderson from Philadelphia in exchange for a swap of second-round draft picks, and cash consideration going from Philadelphia to Utah.
Utah is expected to waive Henderson, so the move will have no bearing on their current roster.
The trade will lead to the Jazz having a better second-round pick, though details on the second-round picks involved were not immediately available.
Andrei Kirilenko didn't mince words at all when he said that he wants to remain in Utah.
According to author and FOXSports.com NBA analyst Charley Rosen, writing on the Web site: "Jazz-watchers are mystified by Kirilenko's subpar play so far this season. Not only are all of his numbers down, but he's complained loudly and in public about his not being involved in the offense. Here's what's really going on: AK's wife is miserably unhappy living in Salt Lake City, and she's been nagging him to find a way out of there. The only option they've come up with is to try to force a trade by being a malcontent. (Jazz owner) Larry Miller has been known to be impulsive, but so far (coach) Jerry Sloan has kept his boss from popping his cork. So far."
"This is not true," Kirilenko said before the Jazz's game against the Trail Blazers. "It is, like, unbelievable lie. Because, first of all, we built house. Secondary, Masha is opening her clothing store. It's not true at all."
During All-Star weekend, the NBA Players Union will announce Derek Fisher as their new president.
Fisher succeeds Antonio Davis who retired last season.
Ray Allen of the Seattle SuperSonics and Mehmet Okur of the Utah Jazz have been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern as a replacements for injured West All-Stars Allen Iverson (ankle) of the Denver Nuggets and Steve Nash (shoulder) of the Phoenix Suns for the 2007 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 18 in Las Vegas.
Chris Paul of the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets will replace Nash in the Playstation Skills Challenge.
Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas did not practice today and is not traveling with the team to Utah in order to take care of personal matters. His status for the game in Utah will be updated at a later time.
The Utah Jazz announced Dantley's No. 4 jersey will be retired at halftime when the Nuggets visit April 11.
"It's a great honor,'' said Dantley, who averaged 29.6 points with Utah from 1979-80 to 1985-86.
"I knew my jersey would be retired sooner or later. Now, I don't have to have guys around the league giving me a hard time asking, 'Why isn't your jersey up there?' "
