Kings Will Try To Accommodate Nocioni

Jun 11, 2010 4:23 PM

Kings forward Andres Nocioni would like to be traded this offseason and the team will work to accommodate his request.

The Sacramento Bee writes that if the Kings aren't able to trade Nocioni, they expect him to show up to training camp ready to play.

"I think that's just a different version of what we've covered," said Kings president Geoff Petrie. "We kind of know how everybody feels. When and if and how, we don't know. There's nothing new there."

A buyout might be an easy avenue for Nocioni to get what he wants, but it sounds as though Petrie would prefer to trade him.

"He's still a productive player and he can still help teams," Petrie said. "He can still play."

Nocioni Requests Trade

Jun 10, 2010 2:42 PM

Kings forward Andres Nocioni told the Spanish publication Ole that he has asked the team to trade him this offseason.

HoopsHype.com translated the piece from Spanish to English.

"I openly told the Kings that I wasn't going to stay," Nocioni told Ole. "They told me they were OK with it and that they were going to try to trade me to a competitive team, probably on draft day... I have to wait."

Nocioni was then asked about a potential trade to the Raptors. Toronto's Hedo Turkoglu is asking for a trade and has mentioned that we would welcome a trade to Sacramento.

"Toronto is not a bad option, but I don't want to talk about rumors," Nocioni said.
